Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Smartphone will be unveiled by August. See what to expect

After the successful launch of Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone, Samsung has been preparing for the launch of the Galaxy Note 8 ever since. We have heard a lot of about the possible launch date of Galaxy S8, however, the report which we have, claims that the Note 8 which will come in phablet size will be unveiled next month which is August. In fact, to be specific, the launching date has been reported to be August 23. Now, this is quite an early date than it was previously expected and there is a reason for the same as well.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Smartphone will be unveiled by August. See what to expect
Galaxy Note 8

According to the source, the Galaxy S8 sales figures have gone soft over the past couple of months. It is expected that this could be possibly due to the saturation of the market. There are tons and tons of premium smartphones launching every single day, and in fact, most of them have managed to do a great job in giving a tough competition to the Galaxy S8. In fact, there are certain reports which claim that the sales of Galaxy S7 were comparatively higher than the Galaxy S8 at this point last year.

Don't Ignore

Also, do make a note that Apple is also expected to launch the new iPhones this year and that is also expected to happen or around the month of September. The source claims that Samsung is planning on an early launch for the Galaxy Note 8 mainly to get the upper hand on the new iPhones. And the fact that the new iPhone 8 or the iPhone special edition is also set to launch this year as a bonus device, Samsung could definitely use from the edge over the Cupertino rival.

As far as the specs of the Galaxy Note 8 is concerned, it is expected that it will also sport an infinity display just like the Galaxy S8 smartphones. And since this is a Note phablet, it will also have an S Pen which is expected to have some added new features. As far as the other features are concerned, all of them are expected to be pretty much the same as the Iris scanner on the front, and the home button is also expected to under the display. Having said that, we would like to know your thoughts on this. Would you be interested in buying the Galaxy Note 8 smartphone? Be sure to let us know your thoughts on this by leaving a comment down below.

Analysts: Samsung Galaxy S8 is selling slower than Samsung S7. See the Reasons

Samsung's Galaxy S8 came with the most radical design overhaul in the history of the Galaxy S series, a top-shelf camera, and numerous other enticing features, but this specs from Samsung S8 may have not been enough for users to switch their current smartphones for it. A new report cites Korean analysts from The Bell, who claim that the Samsung S8 sale is actually slower than the Galaxy S7 launched before it.

Analyst: Samsung Galaxy S8 is selling slower than Samsung S7. See the Reasons.
Samsung S8 vs S7

The figures they've come up with Samsung S8 sale, however, are a bit conflicting. In the first three weeks after launch, Samsung reported that it has shipped 10 million of the new handsets, while the Bell's numbers are 9.8 million for the S8 in the first two months after the release, and then they are compared to the 12 million that the S7 has moved for the same period. Thus, the analysts' claim, the S8 sells 20% less than the S7, but it doesn't seem like an apples-to-apples comparison. The discrepancy might be stemming from the fact that Samsung's ten million figure was for both the S8 and S8+, and it counted the units shipped to carriers and retailers, not just the ones sold to end users.

Don't Ignore:

When The Bell's analysts isolated the S8 and the S7 sales for the first two months, they came up with the weakening sales numbers for the S8 in a leap of faith: "Since the 10 million shipment, Samsung is not revealing sales figures possibly due to slowing sales. We assume the S8 is selling less than the S7." While assuming isn't a very scientific method, a further tangential evidence comes in the form of decreased parts sales for the S8 from certain suppliers, adds the report.

The analysts attribute their own conclusion regarding the slowdown in Galaxy S8 shipments to market saturation in the high-end phone segment, as well as the heavy competition from the Chinese brands. A Samsung official declined to comment on exact numbers, save for the ballpark "we estimate S8’s sales volume to be similar to that of S7 for now," reminding again that the S7 went on sale globally almost immediately, while the S8 was only available in three major markets in the beginning.

Reasons Why Samsung S8 is Selling Slower Compared to Galaxy S7

  • The Samsung Note 7 incident dented Samsung reputation much worse than they predicted. This will indeed slow down the sales of the newly launched Samsung S8 because people are being careful these days.
  • Samsung Galaxy S8 is not an appealing smartphone for Samsung Galaxy S7 users. There is hardly any reason for them to upgrade to the new Galaxy S8. The Galaxy S8 specs is not that enough to drop Galaxy S7 except for few things like I personally prefer the samsung s8 orchid grey color
  • Tons of smartphones with enticing and great specifications like the samsung s8 are being launched on a daily basis by several Smartphone brands.

Samsung Galaxy J5 Pro Smartphone With 3GB RAM & 3,000 mAh Launched

Samsung has just launched the Galaxy J5 2017 smartphone which serves as an upgrade to the existing line up of devices that the company has. However, now the company has released the new Galaxy J5 Pro smartphone which is an upgraded version of the Galaxy J5 2017. In fact, the only improvement we can clearly see with the Galaxy J5 Pro is an increment in RAM and internal storage size in comparison to what we got with the Galaxy J5 2017. Though we can't say for now about the Smartphone price.

Samsung Galaxy J5 Pro Smartphone With 3GB RAM & 3,000 mAh Launched

Well, this is not the first time Samsung will just upgrade few specs and called it a new smartphone and is certainly not going to be the last. Now, speaking of the specs and the smartphone price, the Galaxy J5 Pro has a 5.2-inch AMOLED display on the front which has a resolution of 720 x 1280. Internally, it is also powered by an Exynos 7870 SoC which has an octa-core processor that is clocked at 1.6GHz. This is coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. As said earlier, this is the only upgrade which we see here. Hence, if you are okay with the initial 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, then you are better off with the Galaxy J5 2017 itself.

Another thing is that the internal storage is expandable as well, upto 256GB, on both the Galaxy J5 2017 as well as the new Galaxy J5 Pro, hence it should not be a problem whatsoever. In terms of the camera, we are looking at a 13MP rear as well as a front-facing shooter on the J5 Pro. On the front, there is also a fingerprint scanner which is embedded on the home button and the smartphone is running on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. The entire package is kept powered by a 3,000 mAh battery which should be good enough to keep it powered for an entire day’s worth of usage easily.

As mentioned earlier, if you are not a heavy user and are okay with just 2GB RAM & 16GB storage, then you should consider buying the Galaxy J5 2017. It is not a huge upgrade whatsoever. Now talking about the availability and the smartphone price, the new J5 Pro will be available in Thailand and interested customers can buy it for 9,990 Thai Baht which roughly translates to about 19,000 INR. As of now, there is no official statement on the availability of the smartphone anywhere outside Thailand and we suggest you stay tuned to Prosandconsblog for more info on this device

The new Galaxy C7 2017 smartphone that carries the model number SM-C7100 has been seen at the Wi-Fi Alliance. The smartphone just received its own Wi-Fi certification and this is coming only after a couple of weeks after the device got its Bluetooth certification. All this really confirms the existence of the phone and it looks like we are close to the launch of the device. The Wi-Fi listing, just like the Bluetooth certification, does not really reveal much about the smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy C7 (2017) Smartphone Gets Wi-Fi Certification

The only few thing which we know so far about Galaxy C7 is the fact that it will be running Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. However, it is expected that the Galaxy C7 2017 will also be a mid-range smartphone since the last year’s variant was a highly popular mid-ranged smartphone. Talking of the last year’s C7 smartphone, it was powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC which was coupled with a whopping 4GB of RAM. It was also offered in two variants to choose from i.e. a 32GB variant and a 64GB variant.

The Galaxy C7 also comes with a 5.7-inch SuperAMOLED display which was comparatively better than other smartphones in this price range. Concerning the camera, the Galaxy C7 had a 16-megapixel rear-facing shooter, and on the front, it had an 8-megapixel front-facing selfie snapper. Looking at all this Galaxy C7 Specs 2017,  The device is also expected to be slightly better, if not significantly better.

5 Benefits and 5 Problems of N-Power Recruitment Scheme every Applicants must Know

As the N-power portal re-opens for the registration of 2017 applicants, it is important we discuss the pros and cons of N-power scheme in Nigeria to enlighten both the graduate and non-graduates.

This will go a long way in preventing the dissatisfactions and disappointments that the pioneer beneficiaries experienced after they were accepted into the programme. An advantage for the prospective N-power second batch.

5 Benefits and 5 Problems of N-Power Recruitment Scheme every Applicants must Know

Advantages of N-Power Scheme in Nigeria

  1. It helps to empower and equip the young Nigerians with relevant technical skills and certification so they can start-up or become innovators in both the domestic and global market and as well make a positive impact in boosting the economy of Nigeria.
  2. N-power recruitment helps to reduce the current level of unemployment in Nigeria. Nigerian youths will start getting busy with something productive and profitable other than sitting at home and wasting their intellectual resources and also battling with Frustration, depression, suicidal thoughts, etc.
  3. It is a great opportunity for the fresh graduates who are willing to venture into business of their own to save more money for capital in addition to their little savings from the monthly allowance given to them during their youth service by the government.
  4. Unlike other companies that will invite many graduates seeking for a job for an interview and will employ only a few to fill up the available vacant positions, N-power 2017 scheme recruits more than 500,000 graduates. So, there is a high possibility you will be among the applicants that will be recruited.
  5. Apart from the regular N30,000 monthly stipends given to them by the federal government, graduates who are able to scale through all the verification exercises would also be entitled to receive the credit device facility under the scheme.

Disadvantages of N-Power Scheme in Nigeria

  1. The registration and verification exercises involve is too stressful and seems not to be well organized. Errors like page not loading, Site not available and lot more are encountered while going through the verification process on their official website. Though the problem has been reported, there is still no sign of amendment when the N-power portal was re-opened this year. June 2017.
  2. Another demerit is that after the N-power test, only few who are lucky are deployed in N-power programmes like N-power Health, N-power Agro, N-power tech where skills can be acquired while the other unlucky applicants are deployed as teachers
  3. You are rewarded with a monthly stipend of just N30,000 as a reward for a job well done. Is that not too small?
  4. Another issue is that you can be deployed to a place far away from your location despite the fact you filled your location properly on the N-power portal during registration. This only happens on few occasions though.
  5. The Npower scheme is not a permanent one but for just a period of two years. The hustle for a good, secure and paying job will definitely continue for some youths after passing through the scheme.

Must See! Samsung Galaxy C10 with dual-camera and rose gold leaks again

A Samsung smartphone touted as the Galaxy C10 with a dual-camera setup was rumoured earlier this month. The handset seems to have leaked again, but this time in a different shade.

Must See! Samsung Galaxy C10 with dual-camera and rose gold leaks again
C10

A rose gold variant of the Galaxy C10 has been spotted on Weibo confirming the fact that it will go on to become the first Samsung smartphone to feature a dual-camera setup. But, if you look carefully, the new leak has the dual-LED placed between the two lenses. The leak that we saw earlier had the flash unit positioned on the right side. Even the camera housing is a bit different. The new leak is, however, similar to one of the alleged sketches which also has the flash between the lenses.

Information about the device is still scanty, but rumors say that the Galaxy C10 could feature a Snapdragon 660 SoC which was recently announced by Qualcomm. Considering the Galaxy C9 Pro offered 6 GB of RAM, we could see the same amount on the C10 or even more.

Recommended:- LG Stylo 3 Plus launched with 5.7-inch display, Android Nougat

It seems that Samsung wants to try out the dual-camera setup on a more mid-ranged device before committing to a flagship smartphone. Hopefully, we will see a similar camera setup on the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 which should arrive by the beginning of Q4 this year.

Samsung halt the sales of Samsung Note 7. Owners should go for a refund

Samsung is reportedly unable to recreate the exploding Note 7 issue.
Samsung has not been capable of getting any of its Note 7 smartphone to seize fire and explode, notwithstanding hundreds of people are working on the difficulty.

A source operating on the undertaking informed the New York Times that Samsung “advised hundreds of personnel to quickly diagnose the issue,” when they first heard about the problems, however, had been unable to replicate the smoking and exploding devices seen inside the wild.

The initial diagnosis changed into a defective battery, so replacements had been made and shipped to clients, however, these phones had the same issue, forcing Samsung to halt all sales of the Note 7 and keep in mind every one, telling customers to “power down.”

Samsung are still unable to recreate the issue according to the Times’ report, which probably means we won't see the Note 7 for some time, if ever.

This information caps off a certainly bad week for Samsung . Reports that they had stopped manufacturing the Note 7 came out earlier than they had been ready to announce the new recall. When that announcement did come they said no more Note 7 devices would be sold anywhere in the world, and that all owners should go and get a refund. To cap it all off, Oculus removed support for the Note 7 on its Gear VR platform.

Instagram update allows comment moderation on your picture and shows friends comments first

Instagram has made an announcement that an update will be rolled out which include a comment moderation feature. It means that individual has ability and total
control over the comments made concerning their pictures.

Instagram update allows comment moderation on your picture and shows friends comments first
Instagram

How it works

One will now have the ability to either enable a filter that will block a default list of words set by Instagram to hide from their photo comments or they can
just choose certain words that they don’t want to see in the comments on their posts. See image below:

Instagram update allows comment moderation on your picture and shows friends comments first

Another change we should be expecting from the new update is how comments will be shown in every picture you upload. Instead of showing the two most recent
comments as it use to be, users will now see their friend's comments before other comments, just like you see on Facebook. It’s Instagram’s way of making your
profile more personalised.

“The beauty of the Instagram community is the diversity of its members. All different types of people — from diverse backgrounds, races, genders, sexual orientations, abilities and more — call Instagram home, but sometimes the comments on their posts can be unkind. To empower each individual, we need to promote a culture where everyone feels safe to be themselves without criticism or harassment. It’s not only my personal wish to do this, I believe it’s also our responsibility as a company. So, today, we’re taking the next step to ensure Instagram remains a positive place to express yourself,” said Kevin Systrom, CEO & Co-founder, Instagram.

Samsung Cloud launched, Galaxy Note 7 owners get 15GB free storage

A new cloud storage service called Samsung Cloud has been launched on stage today prior to the event held few hours ago for the new Samsung Galaxy Note 7. But this new Samsung Cloud is not looking to rival Dropbox or Google Drive because the service is actually more of an extension of the Smart Switch feature which makes it easy for users to transfer data to and from their Samsung devices

Samsung Cloud will aid users by regularly backing up the device’s data including but not limited to apps, settings, files and layouts regularly to the cloud. This means that Smart Switch will have a recent copy of the Galaxy Note 7 should users ever require one. Samsung is giving all Galaxy Note 7 owners 15GB of free Samsung Cloud storage, it hasn’t said if there will be paid options but it’s likely that they will be introduced at a later date. It’s unclear at this point in time whether Samsung will enable users to access Samsung Cloud’s 15GB free storage for general usage or whether the storage will exclusively be limited to automatic device backups.

Leaked Android Nougat Beta build for Huawei P9 images and video

We’ve known that OEMs have been internally testing Nougat releases for their devices and it seems that Huawei is no exception. Today, an OTA link that updates the Huawei P9 to a beta build of Android 7.0 Nougat has been captured (meaning they were able to find the source of the leaked update) that includes the updated EMUI 5.0 skin.

Recommended

Features and Cons of Android 7.0 Nougat

What's New

This update is for system version EMUI 5.0. EMUI 5.0 optimizes the camera, battery management, and Phone Manager, and adds multi-user mode, to provide a secure and unique experience for you
  • Added multi-user mode, which allows you to share your device and apps and protects your data and privacy Optimized the Phone Manager, making it easier to change settings and convenient to manage with more powerful functions
  • Optimized the interactive gestures, enabling you to swipe left and right to switch between the mode and settings screens
  • (Re: multi-user mode): Added a mode, which allows multiple users to access the same app with segregated personal data and privacy protection
  • Added the Huawei-developed ROG power saving technology for the first time, which decreases the screen resolution to save battery power.
  • Optimized the Phone Manager, which helps you manage your device more easily and conveniently.
  • Optimized battery management, which allows you to check the battery power and battery power consumption for any period within two days.
  • Optimized traffic management to automatically add the traffic leftover from the previous month to the current month
  • Optimized the Weather app so that it can forecast weather for each hour including the probability of rainfall Added an entry for third-party social networking apps, such as WhatsApp, eSpace, and Skype, in the contact details screen
  • Optimized the networking speed when international roaming is on.
  • Optimized the registration time when the network connection is interrupted for environmental reasons

One thing you should know about the update before updating your Huawei P9: You may be able to update your Huawei P9 to this build, but chances are you may be stuck on it. Huawei would need to release an OTA specifically for this build to get you to a newer version. So even if you do flash it with minimal knowledge of fastboot (as you won’t need to use it for this), you may be stuck on this build and will need to either restore your phone entirely with HiSuite, or you may need to unlock your bootloader and to restore to factory software.

Samsung designed a slot for both UFS(256GB) and microSD cards

Samsung recently announced a UFS cards of 256GB which is the first of it kind in the world line-up. Based on the UFS 1.0 standard, they are supposed to be the successors to the microSD cards that we have been using even up till now. UFS cards are much, much faster than anything microSD can achieve, so they are clearly the future.

Samsung  designed a slot for both UFS(256GB) and microSD cards

But the only drawback is that they aren't compatible with existing microSD card slots, featured in anything from phones to some Chromebooks. This obviously creates an adoption problem, but Samsung may have found a solution.

According to an official statement issued to Droid-Life, the Korean company has designed a slot that can take both microSD and UFS cards, and it says it's working "with different partners in the industry on this integration for next-generation devices".

It means that, when you buy a new device with UFS slot inside it, you'll be able to use your old microSD cards if you so wish, and you also can grab a faster UFS card if you think you need that extra speed. Perhaps Samsung will show its "industry partners" the way by integrating that socket design into the upcoming Galaxy Note7.
